I need help with voip providers?

Question by railhaven: I need help with voip providers?
I do massive amounts of volunteer work.
I need a provider that will. Provide Wi-Fi service
lAllow me to make and recive from land lines as well as cell phones.
I am running into the problem that who ever is calling or I am calling must also be signed up with the provider.
Most of the people I deal with are lucky to have running water let alone a computor or home phone.
I would also like a provider who can handle my out and incoming faxes.
I send out forms for free medical, dental, emergancy housing assistance, legal, the list is endless

I have read so many reviews I am lost.I use only my computor, and a head set. My cell if urgent.

Thank-You
Railhaven
Do not include Vonage.
I need to be able to download the program.

Vonage has the best feature set. You can have the call forwarded to your cell phone after so many rings if you don’t pick up on your vonage line. You can use a fax machine. They will send you a device for their system with a wireless router built in. You can use their “softfone” feature on your laptop. They just are really awesome.

  1. I think any answers you get are just opinion, that being said I had Vonage and dropped it and have been very happy with Packet8 VOIP. http://www.packet8.net

  2. Don’t think any voip can support such a lot of features. Use cordless phone maybe.

  3. It’s unlikely you’ll find the features you want in a free (like Skype) voip service and I don’t think any provider offers wi-fi. You can, however, set up your own wi-fi network that takes an incoming broadband connection and broadcasts it throughout your house or office.

Also, fax machines don’t always work well over IP–it all depends on the one you use. If you have an older machine, you can always go with a third-party fax solution, like eFax.

My provider is voip.com and I can call anyone, anywhere, regardless of if they’re in my network or not, although in-network calls are free (yay!). I call cell phones, landlines, and other computers. They gave me a free, downloadable softphone program and a voip internet phone adapter, so I can use my regular phone to make voip calls if I want to.
